The Lakeshore Fab Lab is inviting everyone to welcome 2020 with a free open house on Thursday, Jan. 2 and Friday, Jan. 3. Both open houses will take place from 10am to 4pm at the Fab Lab, which is situated inside Muskegon Community College’s Rooks/Sarnicola Entrepreneur Institute at 388 Clay Ave. in downtown Muskegon.

Supported and managed by Muskegon Community College, the Lakeshore Fab Lab is a relatively new entrepreneurial hub that gives children and adults access to more than a half-million dollars’ worth of equipment for everything from laser etching and 3D printing to metal milling and robotics.

The Fab Lab’s open house will include opportunities for children to play with 3D pens, Ozobots—which teach basic coding skills, Squishy Circuits—which teach circuitry skills, and more. Teens and adults are welcome to work with the lab’s advanced 3D printers; laser etcher; metal, wood, plastic, and foam cutting equipment, and more.

Please note: all are welcome, but children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
